What reverts to 300 baud? Exactly what do you mean by this? If you
can't use interface speeds above 9600, that kind of defeats the
purpose of having a high speed modem.
The modem should support speeds up to 115200 bps, and HP-UX 9.0
supports speeds at least that high, and so does the HP-UX 9.0
version of C-Kermit, so I'm not sure where the 9600 bps limitation
is coming from.
: : connect

: I tried this and nothing happened.
:
No echo? No error message? Kermit did not pop back to its prompt
automatically right away? But it did let you escape back to the
prompt with Ctrl-\c?
: I wonder if there is some kind of configuration issue with HP/UX
: or the port. Also, there could be problems with the cable, because
: the cable is built by people who know a little about modems and
: nothing about HP hardware.
:
Either one of these is a distinct possibility.
